Born in Southwest Texas, I grew up knowing the best and worst of my state and the American South as a whole. This awareness was amplified by becoming a public school teacher who began her career in rural Title I schools, sharply juxtaposed against the nearby polished metropolis of Austin, Texas. Teaching took it’s toll on my psyche, and because of this, I took several breaks from the profession. My work experience is, in kind language, diverse, and the common thread uniting it all is my passion for people. Living love is the name of the game.
Currently, I co-journ with PK-12 educators and leaders committed to using technology for empathetic, intentional, and sustainable innovation in schools. After seven years as a public school educator, I transitioned to my current role with Apple as a Professional Learning Specialist. Rural schools are my jam.
I strengthen my Self through trail running, cycling, yoga, and being bad at new hobbies. A perpetual beginner, I currently study Spanish, using watercolors, and creating eZines. I’ll keep you posted 😉
