Beginning her career in a rural Title I school, Lauren developed early on a keen sense of social awareness and deep compassion for community. She believes leaders must evaluate policy that better cares for teachers so they may better care for students. To better understand the role of social justice and wellness in education, Lauren became a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher and Wellness Champion with Breathe for Change in 2019.
As a learning specialist for public schools, she promotes intentional, equitable, and innovative use of technology to drive community healing.
When she’s not in the classroom or on a yoga mat, you can find Lauren hiking and biking New Mexico’s world-class trails, cooking plant-based meals, or doting on her two cats, Pancho & Margaux.
